Scoundrelle’s Keep was started in 2003 when Heather Luca made her wedding dress. The dress also included a corset, the first of many to come. Soon, many people contacted Heather for their own corsets and from there Scoundrelle’s Keep was born. Thanks to friends, friends-of-friends and countless other referrals Scoundrelle’s Keep boomed with over 500 corsets made to date.
At the urging friends and colleagues Heather to make pieces to co-ordinate with her corsets and not long after entire lines came about. Since then she has had many successful lines come down the runway such as her Fall 2009 Collection: Thaumatrope and her 2010 Collection: Kismet.
Most of Scoundrelle’s Keep popularity can be credited to her clients. Many clients come back time and time again, often bringing friends with them. Word of mouth seems to be the main way that clients find Scoundrelle’s Keep. This has helped her business grow from a room in her house to a spacious studio in St. Paul. She has shown on the runways of Atlanta, Boston, Minneapolis, and Seattle.
She hopes to continue her work making eye-catching, innovative corset designs and dressing men and women one elegant outfit at a time.
